And the most widely used browser in 2011 is ... Internet Explorer

Microsoft's browser continues to be preferred by users, despite a drop in the statistics. Firefox and Chrome dispute the second place.

The information released by Net Applications (which gives a 52% share to IE) and StatCounter (39% for IE) are unanimous in the Microsoft leadership in the browser war.

To Net Applications, Chrome keeps a rising trend, but still far from second place occupied by Firefox. However, to StatCounter, Chrome has 27.3% market share, compared with 25.3% of Mozilla's browser.

According to the The Verge, the adoption of Internet Explorer by 9 users of Windows 7 is growing, in contrast with the decrease in the number of users of IE 8.
